In the evening of Sept. 27, 2011, the 62nd anniversary of the founding of the People’s Republic of China celebrated by Shandong government and the commendation congress of “Honorary Citizenship of Shandong” and “People’s Friendly Messenger of Shandong” held in Jinan Nan Jiao hotel. Provincial Party Committee member, deputy provincial governor Wang Junmin attended this meeting and gave a speech. Cattaneo from Pirelli of Hixih group received the title of “Honorary Citizenship of Shandong”.

“Honorary Citizenship of Shandong” is the highest award which endowed to foreigner by Shandong government and it is held once a year, aiming to commend and encourage the foreigners who has made great contributions in fields of Shandong economic construction, social development and external exchange and cooperation. Since the award has been set in 1994, there were totally 72 foreigners has received this honor.

Cattaneo worked as General Manager of Hixhi Pirelli Tire Co., Ltd and Pirelli President in Asia Pacific area. Before, Cattaneo has worked in China for many years and has rich experience in business management. He adopted the experience into Hixih’s management and has promoted Hixih’s rapid development so received highly appreciated of the whole group. He applied rich experience of marketing and international exchange into activities of exchange and cooperation between Hixih and other domestic and foreign enterprises thus has played a crucial role in the development of Shandong economy. Besides, Cattaneo loves China’s culture and sports cause very much and has also made important contributions to China-Italy culture and sports exchange.

Cattaneo has won the titles of “Confucius Friendship Award” issued by Jining government and “Qilu Friendship Award” issued by Shandong government.
