On May 12th, on occasion of the fourth "Disaster Prevention and Reduction Day", in order to comprehensively promote the safe enterprise construction, improve the staff's awareness of fire safety, enhance the staff's fire emergency handling ability, Hixih group held the fire extinguishing drill and emergency evacuation drill with the theme of "pay attention to safety, care for life", and invited Yanzhou fire brigade officers and soldiers to offer full command and supervision.

This drill was composed of two parts: fire extinguishing drill and emergency evacuation drill. At 9am, the fire extinguishing drill was held at the Aneng canteen south basketball court, more than 400 security staff and worker representatives attended the drill. First of all, Hixih vice general manager Zhou Yong gave a speech, he pointed out that Hixih has always put the safety work in significant position and valued indefatigable, fire safety work as an important part of the safety work could not be ignored. “Today is the ‘Disaster Prevention and Reduction Day’, hoping this activity can improve everyone's consciousness of fire fighting, enhance fire self-saving ability and safeguard people's life and property safety.” Zhou said.

Then, the fire brigade members explained the knowledge about the importance of fire control work, fire extinguishers use method, basic fire extinguishing and self-saving knowledge, how to give an fire alarm and staff’s main security task and so on. After introduction, the fire fighter demonstrated the usage of fire extinguishers and fire hose and fire water branch. All staffs learned seriously, carefully observed the operating essentials, and carried out site operated drill according to the demonstration. Everyone seriously treated the drill during the operation process, tried to learn the fire-fighting equipment usage, strictly execute the implementation rules, quickly and accurately put out the fire. Finally, the fire brigade team affirmed employees’ practical drill and once again stressed the fire prevention and extinguishing cautions.

At 11am, office building emergency evacuation drill was officially started. The fire detector on fourth floor was simulative on fire, the fire control office received the smoke alarm then immediately turned on the alarm bell, the alarm bell rang immediately, and the monitoring office instantly commanded evacuation group to carry out personnel evacuate via fire radio. Under the command evacuation group, employees quickly and orderly evacuate to the front of the office building square through escapeway, the whole process took about 5 minutes. In order to achieve the training effect, group office also formed linkage mechanism with the Yanzhou 91 Hospital. The monitoring office dialed 120 and called the hospital emergency center at the first time. Without any notice in advance, the hospital immediately dispatched 120 ambulances after receiving alarm and arrived at the drill site within 10 minutes.

After the fire drill, the fire brigade members made comments on the fire evacuation drill, emphasized the fire escape essentials and the main self-help methods, pointed out the deficiencies during the fire evacuation drill process, and trained the fire alarm procedures and various fire-fighting equipments usage to further consolidate the exercise effect.
